So a lot's happened...

Earlier in the summer of 2016 (blink and you missed it!) a project I'm part of won the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service. A big congratulations to all the volunteers who have made the Northumbria World War One Project such a successful enterprise. I'm looking forward to the official presentation of the award this October. The site documents the casualties suffered by the region during the course of World War One. I'm not sure of the exact number, but I believe the total number of researched casualties is close to 2000. These are all personal stories and tragedies. In other news, there's been a whole host of websites launched, business identities designed and marketing leaflets printed. Here's some of our recent printed work. Visit Big Purple Box for more examples in our portfolio or get in touch and let us discuss how we can help bring your next website, logo, advert or leaflet project to a successful conclusion.

Back to Print!

Completed a couple of old style print projects recently and it made a nice change having complete control over the look and feel of a design rather than the more flexible approach needed when designing for the internet. Alongside the print work, some advertising designs for a local building company – Viking Building Services, Jenkinsons Glaziers and Robinsons Optometrists . If you feel I can help with your business advertising, online presence (website) or marketing needs give me a call on 0191 2802023 or drop an email to  john@bigpurplebox.co.uk Whether you're a new start up or an established enterprise I feel sure my skills can help with the marketing and promotion of your business at a sensible cost and delivery timescale.

We've been working with Robinson Optometrists for a couple of years now, here's what Nigel Robinson had to say about us. " Hi John. just a quick note to thank you for the latest advert you produced. Despite very little notice, you have once again produced an excellent result. This serves as a constant reminder  that taking Big Purple Box on board has been one of the best business decisions we have ever made. Thank you! " Robinsons Optometrists are up for two prestigious national awards this year, Technology Practice and Independent Practice of the Year 2014. We'd like to wish them good luck for the event. You can see more of our work by taking a look over our online print portfolio . Get in touch and lets see if we can help you with your business advertising or more! john@bigpurplebox.co.uk

We've been busy developing packaging for our favourite chilli sauces and have a new website going live! Crazy Fred came to us to develop some packaging and bottle labels for his excellent range of chilli sauces and chutneys. With a number of bottle sizes and labeling requirements we went for a colour coded approach, green labels are mild sauces, red ones hotter and if it's got a skull and crossbones on, then beware! You can buy them online from Freds website or catch the Crazy Man himself at Food Fayres across the region, in fact we're hoping to catch up with him again at Whitley Bays very own Food Festival on the 14th and 15th June. Time for Change : came to us to redevelop their old website and design a new identity for the business. They had originally made use of a 'free' service to develop their website, but like many found that they had outgrown the limitations of the 'free' service. Once we understood what Time for Change were trying to a...

January update and a Happy New Year!

Well after a difficult week, what with the heating giving up the ghost! It's now replaced and fully working again I'm sure you'll all be pleased to know. We've got some marketing material for a new client ready to hit the press as well as advertising for Robinsons Optometrists and a couple of websites all coming to completion for the end of this month. February will see us starting on some special 'single page' website designs including the launch of Roaring Silence, a website showing our music related projects as well as housing some useful resources for new or even established bands.

More than just websites...

In this post I'll concentrate on advertising, here are a few examples of adverts designed for some of my clients ranging from press to magazine style adverts. Advertising in directories and publications often require you to be listed in amongst your toughest competitors, with a very high risk of being overlooked. BPBs  service specifically addresses this problem, designing effective eye catching adverts. Advertising isn't right for everyone, but for some companies it's an important part of their marketing plans. If advertising is part of your marketing mix then media planning is required. As this can often be a complex issue we will be only too pleased to offer guidance and advice based on our many years’ experience in dealing with local and national media, press, TV and radio. Both the Jenkinson Glaziers and Robinson Optometrists adverts were produced as full page adverts for local newspapers, the EastCoast Taxis advert was a half page advert in a A4 beer festiv...
